About Dr. Queen
Dr. Dawn Queen is a board-certified dermatologist and hair loss specialist in New York City dedicated to helping patients achieve healthier skin and hair through evidence-based dermatologic care. She combines advanced clinical training with a thoughtful, patient-centered approach and serves as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University.
Dr. Queen specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss disorders, with expertise in both medical and surgical hair restoration. She completed an ISHRS-accredited fellowship in hair restoration surgery under internationally recognized hair transplant surgeon Dr. Marc Avram, where she received advanced training in hair transplantation, alopecia management, and scalp disorders.

Education and Academic Background
Dr. Queen completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning induction into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She subsequently attended Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, one of the highest distinctions awarded to medical students in the United States.
She completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
Dr. Queen's academic work focuses on hair loss, hair transplantation, and emerging technologies in dermatology. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and frequently contributes expert commentary to national media outlets on topics related to skin, hair, and scalp health.
